NA Speaker summons national security body huddle on July 1

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has summoned a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security to discuss overall situation of the region including Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The sources divulged to 24NewsHD on Monday that Speaker Qaiser called a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security on July 1 at 3pm to deliberate on the prevalent situation in the region including Afghanistan.

There is a strong indication that high military officials would attend the meeting, sources added. 

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sinjarani, Opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other parliamentary leaders would be invited to the huddle on national security. 

Besides them, the members of National Security Committee, members of National Assembly and Senators would also participate in the meeting. 

Sources in National Assembly said a consultation had already been made about the huddle and a formal notification regarding the summoning of the meeting will be issued after final discussion. 

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin and PM Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan would attend the meeting.
