Decisions being made taken in haste: Fazl

Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Thursday said the decisions were being made in haste instead of acting responsibly.

“Has Parliament been taken into confidence on Operation Azm-e-Istehkam?” the JUI chief said while addressing a press conference in Peshawar.

He added: “In the past, military operations resulted in devastation.

“The self-respect of tribesmen has been damaged.”

“When people return after the operation, they do not have their homes.”

He continued; “If ties with Iran can be friendly, why not with Afghanistan?

"Do we want to destabilise Afghanistan instead of stabilising it?"

“The hopes of the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan are being dashed.”

“We want to make Pakistan an Islamic state per the constitution.”
