There are 29 cases registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Islamabad as per the details submitted to the Islamabad High Court (IHC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Islamabad police have registered 28 Cases against Imran Khan. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered one case against him,” the State Council told the IHC during the hearing on a petition seeking details of the cases against Imran Khan.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition.
“It is understandable if there is only one case. [But] here, there are many,” PTI’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said.
“We have been asked to join the investigation, but no one picks up our phone call,” he added.
“Just spare some time and review the whole situation,” the IHC chief justice directed the Islamabad police.
According to the report submitted to the IHC, one of the police cases has been dismissed, seven are under investigation, and 20 cases are pending in the trial court. The case registered under the FIA Foreign Exchange Act is under hearing in the banking court.
The court then disposed of Imran Khan’s plea with necessary instructions.
