Police arrest cops for thrashing university lecturer in Islamabad

On the order of the inspector general of police (IGP), Islamabad, police on Thursday arrested three policemen who had beaten up a university lecturer in the federal capital’s Karachi Company area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Those arrested were Constable Ihsanullah, Shehzad Umar and Mehran.

As per the case registered by the police on the complaint of the teacher, Muhammad Younus, a lecturer at the National Skills University, Islamabad made a woman sit in his car when she hitched a lift from him.  

It was further written in the FIR that when the car stopped at a traffic signal, three cops sitting in a car and on a bike approached the lecturer, grabbed him by his neck, then forced their entry into the car and started thrashing him. “They even tried to snatch cellphone from him,” read the FIR.
