Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) district Charsadda president has resigned from his post after he developed differences with the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) president and the party’s other office-bearers of his own district over the awarding of tickets for the upcoming local bodies’ (LBs) elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
It has come to light that serious differences exist within the PPP district Charsadda over the awarding of tickets to the party candidates for the LBs elections, which have now resulted in the resignation of district President Ameer Nawaz Khan, who has said that he has quit in protest against what he called PPP provincial president Najmuddin Khan’s unlawful steps. “I have been associated with the PPP for the last 36 years. My elder brother even laid down his life for the party. But unfortunately, Najm has been continuously neglecting the party’s district chapter. Moreover, he has awarded ticket to Senator Behramund’s son in violation of the party’s decisions,” he has said, adding this is despite the fact that the senator has caused an irreparable damage to the PPP in Charsadda since he has his own way in every matter and seldom does he listen to others’ viewpoints. “Behramund always prefers his personal interests to those of the party,” he has said.
He has alleged that PPP KP president has announced to bypass the party’s Charsadda chapter, the proof of which is a video.
Ameer Nawaz Khan has appealed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take action against the high-ups of party’s provincial chapter.
At the same time, he has said that a large number of PPP workers will attend the public gathering to be held in Peshawar day after tomorrow (Tuesday, November 30).
