Air travellers warned against carrying Chalia to Turkey

The government has warned the air travellers flying to Turkey against taking Areca nuts (Chalia) with them as carrying these seeds to the Muslim country would be a violation of their law and could invite jail term, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its tweet posted on Monday, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority wrote: “Areca nuts commonly known as 'chalia' is banned in Turkey as it is considered drugs/narcotics under their law. Carrying areca seeds/chalia to Turkey would be a violation of their law and could invite jail sentence.”
