The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided on Thursday to mark Friday (November 29) as Black Day.
The decision was made at a meeting of PTI’s political committee, which discussed the situation arising after the opposition party’s November 24 protest in Islamabad.
PTI’s political committee considered legal action against those responsible for the alleged killings of the party workers during the protest in Islamabad. The party will give a comprehensive plan for the Black Day. Instructions have been issued in this regard and an announcement will be made soon.
Hundreds of PTI supporters were arrested during three days of PTI's protest from November 24 to 26. Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said on Wednesday that 954 protesters were arrested during three days of PTI's protest and 610 of them were arrested on Tuesday alone.
Speaking at a press conference alongside the Islamabad Chief Commissioner, Rizvi said that more than 200 vehicles were seized in addition to 39 weapons including Kalashnikovs and 12-bore guns from the protesters.
