After a gap of a few days, Lahore again went on to become the most polluted city in the world on Thursday as the air quality index (AQI) in the city shot up to 513, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The AQI over the US consulate was recorded at 686.

Similarly, it was 546 over Thokar Niaz Beg and 534 over Johar Town.  

However, at the same time, there is a nip in the air and the weather is getting chilly by the day.   

The Met Office forecast that it would remain 23 degrees Celsius on the maximum side while 11 degrees on the minimum side.

Multan, with AQI standing at 312, emerged as the second most polluted city in the country on Thursday followed by Peshawar where it was recorded at 283.
