Green lockdown imposed in parts of Lahore to combat smog

The Punjab government imposed green lockdown in several areas of Lahore in order to combat worsening smog, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Different areas of Lahore declared dangerous due to thick smog engulfing the provincial capital every morning.
During the green lockdown enforced on Thursday, the provincial government notified different timings for construction work, barbeque points and rickshaws in the city.
According to local Met Office air quality index in Lahore was recorded at 201 percent which retained first position in most polluted city of the world.
While residents of Lahore experiencing dry weather with temperature of 29 centigrade.
The met office stated that there is no chance of rain in Lahore and provincial government must adopt strict measures to provide clean environment to residents.
