COAS sheds light on women role in national development

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir visited Peshawar and had an interactive session with the women at the KP Women Symposium–2023, ISPR said on Wednesday.
The COAS also attended a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee along with caretaker CM Muhammad Azam Khan.
Addressing the symposium, the COAS shed light on women’s role in national development. “The role of women in the country's development is very important.”
He added the women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa showed determination and bravery, though they faced numerous challenges due to the war against terrorism.
The COAS urged women to take part in the progress and development of KP and the newly merged districts.
During the Apex Committee meeting, the army chief was briefed about the overall security situation including initiatives against smuggling, hoarding and drug trafficking.
Speaking on the occasion, he said: “We have to synergise our efforts for the peace and prosperity of our beloved country.
Pakistan Army will continue to play its role in ensuring peace and stability in KP to provide a secure environment for economic development.”.
Earlier upon arrival, COAS was received by the Peshawar Commander Corps.
