Pakistani rupee’s marathon-run against US dollar continues in interbank

More steam added to the Pakistani rupee’s marathon-run against the US dollar in the interbank market on Thursday as the local currency registered its 17th consecutive increase against the greenback, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the rupee steadily appreciated by another Rs1.01 and ended the day at Rs287.74.

On Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee had continued to strengthen against the US dollar, gaining 0.36%. At close, the rupee had settled for Rs288.75 in the interbank.

In a key development, repatriation of profits and dividend by foreign investors on their investment in Pakistan sharply rose by 74.46% during the first two months of this fiscal year (FY24).
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan has announced its closure on Friday on account of Eid Miladun Nabi.
