Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, have intensified their calls for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
Ali Muhammad Khan and Aleema Khan expressed concerns over the government's focus on suppressing PTI and its leader rather than addressing the nation's pressing issues.
Ali Muhammad Khan criticized the authorities for prioritizing the management of Imran Khan and PTI over the recent protests by the business community.
He emphasized the need for Imran Khan's release, arguing that the country's problems would not be resolved until he is freed.
He also highlighted PTI's uncompromising stance on key issues, referencing Shah Mehmood Qureshi's handling of the Raymond Davis case as an example of their integrity.
Aleema Khan voiced her concerns regarding the treatment of Imran Khan in jail, stating that he has been denied basic rights such as speaking with his children and access to books and exercise equipment.
She urged the media to report accurately and called on PTI supporters to prepare for a final phase of protest, set to begin on September 8.
Aleema Khan assured the public that while she is not entering politics, she remains committed to advocating for her brother's rights and the rights of PTI supporters.
Both leaders called on the people to exercise their constitutional right to protest against perceived injustices and to stand up for their rights, with Ali Amin expected to lead the movement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 8.
