Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khadija Shah has been discharged from the case related to the incidents of May 9 in Quetta, according to police sources.
A case was registered against her in Quetta police for allegedly inciting people regarding the events of that day.
Her lawyer, Iqbal Shah Advocate, filed an application in the court requesting the police to produce evidence against her.
He argued that if there was no evidence, she should be discharged under Section 169 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Today was the last day of her remand, but she was not presented in the court till half past four. When her lawyer went to the concerned police station, he found out that she was not there.
He said he believed she was discharged from the case under Section 169, which allows the police to release an accused person if there is no sufficient evidence or ground for proceeding against them.
