Three Italian tourists faced the disgraceful treatment of Punjab police as local officers confiscated their bicycles and cameras in Sadiqabad, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to the details, Alex, one of the foreign tourists, has alleged police brutality, claiming that while having breakfast on National Highway-V, police officers approached and forcefully demanded their departure from the area.
Alex said the situation escalated as the officers reportedly grabbed him by the hair and subjected him to physical abuse.
The channel reported that the victims of this incident, three foreign tourists exploring Pakistan on bicycles, expressed their dismay over the treatment.
In response to the alleged mistreatment, Alex has vowed to contact the embassy if justice is not served. An FIR has also been registered in this regard.
On the other hand, the police argued in response that the tourists were attempting to proceed without following proper protocols and security.
The incident raises concerns about the treatment of foreign visitors and the need for proper communication and understanding between tourists and law enforcement agencies to prevent such incidents in the future.
