The federal government has unequivocally declared that that it will take stern action against those targeting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa with malicious propaganda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel

Addressing a joint news conference in Islamabad on Monday, federal ministers Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal warned that the government would not tolerate inciting violence in the name of religion in the country.

Khawaja Asif condemned what he called a “new conspiracy” against CJP Qazi Faez Isa on social media, vowing to take legal action against those involved, stressing the state will not tolerate any calls for the Chief Justice’s assassination.

He stated that inflammatory remarks have been made regarding Chief Justice Isa and that some individuals are operating on an agenda driven by external negative interests. “The state will not allow anyone to issue a fatwa for the murder of anyone,” he said and added permitting such rhetoric could lead to the disintegration of the state's structure.

Khawaja Asif said Chief Justice Isa has been targeted for some time and that the latest social media campaign against him is a new plot. He assured that the law will be enforced against these “negative elements.”

The minister further argued that there is an attempt to silence a powerful voice in the judiciary, a voice that upholds the principles of justice and truth. He highlighted that the Supreme Court has already issued a clear statement on the matter.

He also denounced the ongoing false propaganda surrounding the issue, stating Chief Justice Isa has no connection to any decision or statement that has been falsely attributed to him. He observed some individuals are exploiting the situation for their own political gain and reminded the public that there is a system in place within the state, and baseless accusations cannot be made.

Asif said the law will take its course against the elements behind the provocative and baseless propaganda campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

He regretted that an attempt was being made to spread bloodshed in the name of religion for vested political interests.

The minister said believing in the finality of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is part of our faith and the Supreme Court has already clarified its position on the matter.

Khawaja Asif pointed out that Justice Qazi Faez Isa is being targeted for many years under various pretexts. He stated there is an ongoing effort to silence a principled and upright voice within the judiciary.

Emphasizing the need for the rule of law, Kh Asif stated that the dictation of any individual or group will not be accepted.

Condemning the propaganda campaign against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal asserted that individuals or groups who sow seeds of hatred in the name of religion for their own petty political interests should be rejected.

He emphasized that no one will be permitted to issue murder fatwas.

Ahsan Iqbal declared that threatening the CJP is a direct rebellion against the constitution, asserting the authority to judge and impose penalties lies solely with the judiciary, and no group has the right to issue death fatwas.

He emphasized that terrorism, suicide bombings, and issuing fatwas have no connection with Islam and vowed that the law would take strong action against such elements.
