Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z) President Ejazul Haq has distanced himself from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after several PTI leaders announced parting ways with the party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
“There was an alliance with the PTI. The PML-Z was never merged into the PTI,” he stated.
“The election commission should correct the record. There was an alliance with Imran Khan for elections. The media reported incorrectly about the PML-Z merger into the PTI,” he added.
“I have strongly condemned the incidents of May 9. My father had sacrificed his life in the uniform. He had given the army the motto of Iman, Taqwa and Jihad fi Sabilillah,” he stated.
“Those who damaged the monuments of martyrs and defence installations do not deserve any leniency. We will resist every voice against the Pakistan Army,” he declared.
