A spokesperson of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Tuesday strongly denied the speculations made in the media regarding the intra-party elections of the PTI, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The spokesperson specifically addressed and rebutted PTI senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat's assertion regarding Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan's purported non-participation as chairman in the intra-party elections.
The party's spokesperson clarified that no decision has been made regarding Imran Khan's withdrawal or nomination as a candidate so far.
The spokesperson assured that a comprehensive review of all significant aspects related to the intra-party elections, including the date, process, and selection of candidates, will be undertaken as soon as the leadership reaches a consensus.
Earlier, PTI central vice president Sher Afzal Marwat said that a sword of disqualification from PTI chairmanship is hanging over Imran Khan's head, citing a recent decision by the Election Commission to disqualify him from being a candidate due to his conviction in Toshakhana case.
Addressing to media outside Adiala Jail, he alleged that the Election Commission of Pakistan crafted this case to disqualify the PTI Chairman.
It has been decided that Imran Khan as Chairman of PTI will not be a candidate in this election due to his legal disability.
He said that the Shariat Court had dismissed the case of the marriage of Imran Khan.
According to Chairman PTI, Khawar Manika's children also know that their father is lying, he added.
Sher Afzal added that the PTI has plans to convene conventions in various cities on a large scale.
“The responsibility for organizing these conventions has been delegated to me, and preparations are underway in this regard, ” he hinted.
