Five shot dead in terror attack on Panjgur dam construction site

Armed assailants shot dead five people at an under-construction dam site in Panjgur city of Balochistan late Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The gunmen targeted the dam site in Tehsil Prome of Panjgur and also set on fire the machinery brought in for constructing a local dam.
According to Levies officials, the dead bodieshave been shifted to a local teaching hospital.
It may be mentioned here that about a month ago seven labourers were also brutally murdered in an armed attack on a house in Panjgur area of Khudaabadan. All the victims hailed from Punjab city of Multan and were working on a house construction site when the incident took place.
According to the district administration, armed assailants had entered the residence where the labourers were staying and opened indiscriminate fire.
The seven men were killed on the spot, while one, identified as Muhammad Ramzan, son of Allah Yar, was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have attributed the attack to militants from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), who are believed to be behind the heinous assault.
President condemns terrorist attack in Panjgur
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the firing of armed men in Panjgur and expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the terrorist attack.
According to President House press wing statement, President Zardari expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident
President Zardari said that terrorists were enemies of the country’s development and prosperity of the province. He said that terrorists do not want to see Balochistan to develop.
The President prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured of the attack.
The President also prayed for high ranks of the departed souls in Jannah and patience for the bereaved families.
Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemns Panjgur attack
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday condemned attack on workers of a construction company in Panjgur area of Balochistan.
In his condolence message addressed to the bereaved families, the interior minister assured them that stern action will be taken against those persons who are involved in this attack.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant courage to the heirs of deceased persons to bear this irreparable loss with courage and the rest departed souls in eternal peace. He also prayed for early recovery of all the injured persons.
He further said that the State will deal with these persons with iron hands and all they will face the consequences for committing this heinous crime.
