Dense fog disrupts rail travel

Dense fog disrupted train operations in different cities of the country as several trains from Karachi and Quetta were delayed for hours to reach Lahore Railways Station, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Shah Hussain Express delayed by two hours and 15 minutes, Jaffar Express, Tezgam, Awam Express delayed by two hours while Karachi Express delayed by one hour and 40 minutes.
The TV channel reported that Farid Express was delayed by an hour and a half hour, Shalimar and Khyber Mail delayed by one hour, the TV channel reported.
The Pakistan Met Office said a strong westerly wave is present over northeastern parts of the country and likely to persist in upper parts of the country till Tuesday.
The Met Office predicted rain (with snowfall over hills) is expected in northeast Punjab, Potohar region, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
While rain-thunderstorms (with snowfall over hills) is expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas while fog is likely in central and south Punjab at isolated places on Monday.
