Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that strong wind and thunderstorm are likely to hit many cities including different parts of Karachi in next 24 hours as westerly wind system has entered south and north-west regions of the port city, turning the weather pleasant, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

Rain with thunderstorm is expected in different areas of the city, including Sarjani, Orangi, Baldia, Kemari, Saddar Clifton, Defence, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, North Karachi and other areas.

On the other hand, the weather got pleasant after it drizzled and wind began to blow in various parts of Lahore in the wee hours of Sunday, providing relief to the those facing the first heat wave of summer. 

The change in weather brought the temperature at 26 degrees Celsius in the provincial capital.

There was drizzling in the areas of Model Town, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk. Mall Road, Jail Road, and Lakshmi Chowk. 

In next 24 hours, there is a possibility of strong winds and 5 % chance of rain in the city. Lahore will also remain partly cloudy. However, a significant downpour will lash out the city from Tuesday. 

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad is likely to experience thundershowers at a few places during the evening or night, meanwhile the majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's districts will continue to have dry and partly cloudy weather. 

Under the influence of this weather system, a strong wind accompanied by thundershowers are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Saidu Sharif, Abbottabad in the evening or night.

Similarly, Mansehra, Kohistan, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda and Mardan are likely to receive strong winds and thundershowers. 

While there is a chance of wind and rain in some areas of Punjab, Balochistan, and Sindh, the majority of these provinces will experience dry, partly cloudy weather.

The PDM also forecasted the likelihood of strong winds and thundershowers in a number of Punjabi cities, including Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Okara, Faisalabad, and Toba Tek Singh.

On the contrary, a gusty wind with thundershowers are expected in Sahiwal, Lahore, Sialkot, Bahawalnagar, Rawalpindi, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Attock, Jhelum, Murree and Galiyat. 

The weather will remain partly cloudy in most districts of Balochistan, meanwhile thunderstorm is likely to occur at few places in Kashmir and weather will remain dry in Gilgit-Baltistan.
