Many high-ranking Lesco officers declared ‘corrupt’

Several high-ranking officers in Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) have been declared corrupt, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.


According to sources, an intelligence agency has submitted the report based on the corruption of the officers to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.


The sources further said that the Prime Minister has directed the Interior Ministry to take action against the corrupt officers. Moreover, the Establishment Division was directed to monitor corrupt officers.


A report of corruption allegations was submitted against officers of grades 18, 19, 20 and 21 in LESCO.


The sources said that in the report of intelligence agency, LESCO General Manager Technical Amir Yasin was declared corrupt.


Chief Engineer Material Management Ramzan Butt was also declared corrupt. The report was given to the Prime Minister about the theft of electricity and bribery committed by Ramzan Butt.


DG Implementation Rai Muhammad Asghar was also declared corrupt. Rai Muhammad Asghar charged with bribery and preparing fake recovery results.


Likewise, Deputy Manager Public Relations Rai Masood Kharal was also declared a corrupt officer. Rai Masood Kharl was blamed for overbilling and he was considered very close to LESCO chief Shahid Haider.


Further, Project Director GSC Zahid Qayyum Khokhar was also declared a corrupt officer in the report.


Superintending Engineer Kasur Circle Nadeem Malik, Zafarullah Sangi and Mohammad Rasheed were declared corrupt officers.


Manager Eastern Circle Muhammad Anwar Watto was also declared a corrupt officer.


Manager S&I Asghar Sukhera has also been placed in the category of corrupt officer.


Manager M&T Aqeel Zafar Slehri was also declared a corrupt officer.


XENs Rabyar, Faisal Ashraf, Basharat Bashir and Samim Gohar were declared corrupt officers


XEN Nasir Ali, Rao Kamran, Mir Mustafa, Muhammad Muzamal were also included in the corrupt category.


XEN Fayyaz Ahmed, Hamadullah and Asif Khan were also declared as corrupt officers in the report.
