Maryam 'leading revolution to modernise' health system in Punjab: Marriyum

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is leading a revolution to modernize the health system in Punjab, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Friday.
This she said while speaking at Mayo Hospital where she opened a newly-constructed block for treatment of children. She took a round of various sections of this modern block.
According to a handout, she shed light on the history of this 153-year-old facility and her party’s feats to equip it with modern tools.
”The health of women and children is the top priority of Chief Minister Maryam. Her vision is to make Punjab an exemplary province.
“Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif have been setting new examples of better public service delivery and Maryam is following in their footsteps.”
Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Paeds Surgical Block also has a CSSD, central oxygen supply, a small operation theatre, a daycare centre and a pathology lab.
He added that the wards were named after legendary professors. He highlighted that the number of beds in the oncology, dengue and medical wards of the Paeds Medicine Unit has been increased from 25 to 48.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the new block, built at Rs350 million, is equipped with modern pediatric treatment facilities, surgery and modern machinery. He added that with the construction of a new 4-storey block, the number of wards has increased, increasing beds from 50 to 80.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor KEMU and Professor of Paeds gave a briefing regarding the treatment of children and the provision of modern machinery in the newly constructed block.
