In an informal conversation with journalists, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar addressed several key issues, emphasizing that no constitutional amendment can be introduced in a joint session of Parliament, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
He clarified that the government has no plans to bring any new amendment bills or engage in surprise legislation.
Tarar also mentioned that a private member's bill is not directly related to the government's agenda, noting that there are numerous bills from members currently in process. He dismissed any speculation regarding the extension of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa's tenure, stating that no such proposal is under consideration.
When questioned about former ISI chief Faiz Hameed, Tarar remarked that the matter is outside his jurisdiction.
Regarding Imran Khan's legal situation, he said that the provincial government would decide on the case, including whether it might be referred to a military court if deemed necessary by the Punjab government.
Tarar reiterated that decisions regarding the extension of the Chief Justice's tenure are not within his purview.
