Passenger train escapes disaster as track caves in near Jhelum

A passenger train narrowly escaped an accident near Jhelum when the rail track caved in due to heavy rain on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The passenger train from Lahore to Rawalpindi was stopped near Tandoi Bridge near Sohawa.

According to railway officials, the driver saved the train from the accident by applying emergency brakes.

However, relief operations are underway for the maintenance and restoration of the track, the railway authorities said.
