As preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy gain momentum, a towering new sculpture has been unveiled at the entrance of Gaddafi Stadium.

The 28-foot-tall ‘Runner Man’, an iron structure weighing two tons, portrays a cricketer in full stride. The massive artwork was completed within 18 days and serves as a striking symbol of the tournament’s arrival.

Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy has returned to Lahore after an international tour. The trophy, which was in Pakistan from November 16 to 25 before being sent abroad, is set for public display. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the trophy will be showcased at Gaddafi Stadium on February 7 during the tournament’s opening ceremony, followed by a similar event at National Stadium in Karachi on February 11.

To bring the excitement to fans across the country, the trophy will embark on a tour of multiple cities. From January 31 to February 2, it will visit Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur. On February 5, it will make stops in Sargodha, Peshawar, and Islamabad, giving cricket lovers a chance to witness the prestigious prize up close.

In parallel, the PCB has completed renovations at Gaddafi Stadium ahead of the tournament. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been invited to inaugurate the upgraded venue next month. The stadium, which underwent a five-month-long renovation, is now equipped with modern features to enhance the fan experience and promote international cricket.

Key enhancements include the installation of two digital screens and high-quality seating for improved spectator comfort. Additionally, a state-of-the-art LED lighting system has replaced the old floodlights on six towers, and a light show is planned to accompany matches. Two new score screens have also been added to elevate the viewing experience.

With Lahore set to host multiple Champions Trophy matches, the revamped Gaddafi Stadium stands ready to welcome teams and fans for an exciting cricket spectacle.
