Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Naib Ameer Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah was arrested from Okara on Monday afternoon for threatening to kill Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources in police, Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah was hiding in Okara after leading the TLP protest.

The sources said the TLP leader was shifted to an unknown place after his arrest from Okara.

Earlier in the day, an FIR was registered against 1,500 Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) workers, including the party’s Naeb Ameer Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah, for hurling life threats at Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Sections related to the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC), inciting people to violence and pressurizing judiciary were inserted in the case.

It was stated in the FIR that the party’s Naib Ameer spread hatred against the superior judiciary, and announced a cash reward of Rs10 million as head money for targeting CJP Qazi Isa.

The first information report (FIR) was lodged at Lahore's Qila Gujjar Singh police station on behalf of Station House Officer (SHO) Hammad Hussain against the TLP leader and 1,500 party workers for issuing death threats to the chief justice.

The case refers to a speech made by Shah at a protest rally outside the Lahore Press Club during a demonstration against the Supreme Court verdict in the Mubarak Sani case.

The FIR includes provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and those related to spreading religious hatred and anarchy, pressuring and threatening the higher judiciary, interference in state affairs and others.
