The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has suspended the arrest warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the lady judge threat case till tomorrow, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The court had conducted a hearing on the review appeal against the arrest warrant for Imran Khan in the lady judge threat case. Imran Khan’s lawyers – Ali Bukhari and Faisal Chaudhary – had appeared before the court.

Additional Sessions Judge Sikandar Khan heard the case. “The judicial magistrate issued non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan the other day,” Imran Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhary told the judge and produced Additional Sessions Judge Faizan Haider’s judgement changing the non-bailable arrest warrant into the bailable one.

“The judicial magistrate ignored some points of the detailed order of the additional sessions judge,” Faisal Chaudhary stated and read out the written judgment of the IHC on security concerns to Imran Khan.

“The judicial magistrate’s decision to issue non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan is illegal,” Faisal Chaudhary stated before the court.

“The sessions court’s decision of issuing bailable warrant was completely ignored. Non-bailable warrants cannot be issued; bailable warrants are issued first,” Ali Bukhari Advocate argued before the court.

“The judicial magistrate was supposed to issue bailable arrest warrant first,” Ali Bukhari said and read out before the court the decision suspending the arrest warrant for Imran Khan in Toshakhana case.

“The security concerns to Imran Khan are so great that the administration has to change the court. His non-bailable arrest warrant should be suspended. What happened a few days ago in the judicial complex should not be repeated anywhere,” Faisal Chaudhary demanded.

The court then issued a notice to the parties in the case and adjourned hearing of the case till tomorrow.
