At least twelve people were arrested in Quetta after the provincial government came into action over the killing of a youngster who was tortured to death by a mob in the Hazara Town area.

Home Minister Mir Zia Langov told media persons that the people involved in barbaric act would be brought to justice, as the area SHO had been suspended for showing negligence, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday afternoon.

The entire nation was shocked by the brutal killing, said Langov, adding that dividing the people on the basis of nationality and sect was a tactic employed by the enemy.

Earlier, it was reported that Brewary Road SHO Izzatullah, Sub-inspector Muhammad Iqbal and three constables were suspended over the lynching incident.

In this connection, an initial report was submitted to Chief Minister Jam Kamal who ordered the provincial police chief to complete the detailed account at the earliest.

The lynching had taken place in Hazara Town on Friday where a mob attacked Bilal Khan Noorzai, 23, and his two friends who were residents of Pashtoonabad. Bilal and others were accused of making video and harassing a woman by the locals.

The mobsters dragged them into a shop and tortured Bilal to death while his friends were saved by police and rushed to a trauma centre at the Civil Hospital in a critical condition.

On Saturday, the family members of Bilal carried his body and reached the Red Zone area, saying they would continue their protest till the arrest of all the culprits.

The police said the accused were arrested after being identified with the help of video footage of the incident circulating on social media, as eyewitnesses said the mob comprised hundreds of people.
