PakSat-MM1 launch reinforces Pakistan's presence in geostationary orbit: FO

Foreign Office Spokesman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that that Pakistan has successfully launched PakSat-MM1, another milestone has been crossed in national space missions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Foreign Office Spokesman in a press statement claimed that in a historic event on Thursday, Pakistan successfully launched the Pakistan Multi Mission Communication Satellite (PakSat-MM1), marking a significant milestone in the nation's space and communication capabilities.

This advanced geostationary satellite, equipped with state-of-the-art communication technologies, reinforces Pakistan's presence in geostationary orbit and aims to enhance satellite-based communication services across the country.

PakSat-MM1 is poised to provide a robust, independent national communication platform, essential for the realization of the "Digital Pakistan" initiative. This initiative is set to accelerate the development of a digitized ecosystem, fostering a knowledge-based economy and driving socio-economic growth.

The satellite's capabilities are particularly critical for delivering high-speed broadband internet services via satellite, thereby improving connectivity in the most remote and underserved regions of Pakistan. This advancement is expected to significantly contribute to the socioeconomic uplift of these areas, bridging the digital divide and enhancing overall national development.

PakSat-MMl stands as a testament to Pakistan's commitment to leveraging advanced technology for national progress, ensuring both the commercial and public sectors benefit from improved communication infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has congratulated the nation on the successful launch of the Pakistan Multi Mission Communication Satellite PakSat-MM1.

In a statement today, he said this historic achievement marks a milestone in our National Space Program. Ishaq Dar said it made possible with the invaluable support of our great friend and partner, China.

The Deputy Prime Minister said this project exemplifies our strong technological collaboration and enduring friendship with China. He commended the entire team at Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission for their tireless efforts.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the Satellite will deliver high-speed broadband internet, significantly boosting connectivity, especially in underserved areas.

He said Pakistan remains committed to promoting science and technology as key drivers of economic growth and national development. He further said this launch demonstrates our resolve to invest in high-tech sectors and develop indigenous capabilities.
