Jan Jamali elected Balochistan PA speaker unopposed

Jan Muhammad Jamali of BAP has been elected unopposed as Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the Assembly secretary, there will no voting for the election of the speaker in Saturday’s noon session.

Balochistan Assembly’s Deputy Speaker will announce the name of the elected speaker in the session.

Earlier, Balochistan Awami Party’s senior leader Jan Jamali filed his nomination papers for the speaker’s slot. Nawabzada Tariq Magsi signed Jamali’s nomination papers as proposer.

The speaker’s seat fell vacant following the resignation of Mir Abdul Quddus who has now been elected as Balochistan’s chief minister.
