Urs of Hazrat Shah Jamal continues

A large number of devotees Sunday continued participating on the second day of the 395th Urs of Hazrat Shah Jamal Sohrawardy at his Mazar-e-Sharif at Shah Jamal Road, Ichra, Lahore.
According to the 241NewsHD TV channel, mehfil-e-Sama was being held in which renowned ‘Qawals’ recited mystic poetry, along with the traditional dhamal on dhool’s beat. Baba Shah Jamal lived in Lahore at the time of Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Urs celebrations started on Saturday while performing the traditional chador-laying ceremony at the grave of the famous Sufi saint of the Subcontinent, after which a large number of pilgrims and devotees are busy attending Mazar-e-Sharif as well as asking for special prayers. The distribution of traditional Langar (free food) among the poor also continued while pilgrims themselves were distributing langar in the Darbar.
