The administration of Punjab University (PU) has initiated action against Islamic Jamiat-e-Talaba, Pashtoon Council, Punjab Council and other student organizations involved in violence and creating law and order situation on the university premises recently, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.


The first information repots (FIRs) were filed on behalf of Acting Chief Security Officer Col ® Umar Khalid. An FIR was also filed against persons involved in damaging government property in Hailey College Lahore yesterday.


Around 13 students who belonged to Jamat-e-Talaba, 10 from Pashtoon Council and 5 from Punjab Council were nominated in the FIRs. These student’s organizations also taken away the University’s sound system.


On 22 October, 2024 around 21 students and 70 unknown persons were nominated in the FIR for attacking, abusing and torturing a security guard. These students also damaged government and public vehicles.


Police also started operation in Punjab University to arrest the nominated accused persons.
