Punjab cabinet okays more tehsils in Lahore

The inquiry report of the Jaranwala tragedy has been presented to the Punjab cabinet in a meeting called on an emergency basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
As per official sources, the decision to form a joint investigation team (JIT) was withdrawn after the inquiry report.
The Punjab cabinet also approved the formation of more tehsils in Lahore. In total, there will be nine tehsils in Lahore.
A special committee will be formed for the formation of new districts.
On the occasion, Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the provincial cabinet was satisfied at the inquiry report.
“The suggestions that came out in the investigation have already been implemented,” he added.
“In the cabinet meeting, the issue of forming JIT or not was considered,” he stated.
“Conjunctivitis has spread all over Pakistan at this time. The problem of conjunctivitis is not Punjab’s only,” he pointed out.
“Schools were closed to control the epidemic of conjunctivitis. The government also took an immediate action on the issue of sight loss due to vaccines,” he added.
“There are about 900 ventilators in Lahore. Demand for ventilators is high in Lahore hospitals. According to the budget, we will increase the number of ventilators in hospitals,” he vowed.
Meanwhile, Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that disappointment is a sin and we all have to play a role for the development of the country.
He was addressing the children and other participants in an event organised by the District Education Authority (DEA) on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Friday.
On the occasion, he said that we should all follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (SAWW).
The chief minister advised the students that you can only be successful if you get good education and acquiring knowledge is necessary to move forward.
“Work diligently and honestly and God will reward you for that,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
“I want to tell children not to pay attention to what people say,” he added.
The CM also distributed shields to the children and awarded certificates to them.
On the occasion, the caretaker chief minister also took a group photo with the award-winning children.
