Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Pakistan successfully navigated a year of intense global and regional challenges through strategic diplomacy and active international engagement.
Talking to 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted that 2024 brought significant hurdles, both globally and in the region. “Pakistan enhanced its diplomatic efforts to address these challenges,” she added.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasised the deteriorating situation in the Middle East due to Israeli aggression, which Pakistan strongly condemned. “We have consistently voiced our concerns and joined forces with other nations to demand accountability and restraint against Israel’s hostile actions,” she noted.
The FO spokesperson said Pakistan made efforts to expand relations with countries worldwide and deepen ties with traditional allies.
“We have participated actively at multilateral levels to promote regional and international cooperation,” she added.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that as the chair of the SCO Heads of Government Meeting, Pakistan organised several key events, culminating in a highly successful summit in Islamabad in October.
She underlined Pakistan’s leading role in the United Nations, ECO, and OIC, addressing pressing issues like the Middle East crisis.
She noted that Pakistan collaborated with the global community in various forums to advocate for peace and stability in the region.
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, she said, “The alarming situation in the Middle East demands collective action. Pakistan has consistently called for accountability and immediate measures to curb Israel’s aggressive policies.”
