Steel bars price goes up by Rs45,000-50,000 per tonne, cement price surges by Rs45-50 per bag

After hike in petroleum prices, costs of steel bars and cement bags have witnessed an unprecedented surge in the market, reported News24HD TV channel on Tuesday.
Price of local steel bars has gone up by Rs45,000 and branded steel bars by Rs50,000 per tonne. New price of local steel bars has gone up from Rs2,15,000 to Rs2,50,000 while branded steel bars price has soared from Rs2,30,000 to Rs2,80,000.
Similarly, cement bag prices of different companies have gone up by Rs45-50 per sack, making it a dream never to be materialized for the poor to construct their own house.
