Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has cried foul at the cypher case judgment, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
“We already knew the match was fixed," Qureshi said while talking to reporters at Adiala Jail.
He added: “The law was flouted. We were not allowed defence. Before recording my statement, the judge gave his verdict.
“It is established that there was no political case of this type in the history of Pakistan. After pronouncing the verdict, the judge ran away from the courtroom.
“We are satisfied with the performance of our lawyers. We will challenge this decision in a high court. We will not protest, we will fight a legal battle.”
He continued: “There was a plan to keep PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi out of Parliament.
"Pakistan will always be defended at all costs.
“Politicians will have to make sacrifices to put the country in the right direction.
“Had I been disloyal to the PTI, I would be a darling.
“I will make another startling statement in the high and supreme courts."
He advocated: “After the cypher issue surfaced, the American ambassador had two meetings with me and the diplomats of the UK and the European Union continued to meet. “Why would these people meet with me if the issue hit diplomatic relations?
The public will vote over the verdict on February 8.
