Former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi is at right that is why he is facing difficulties, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain's sister Sameera Elahi said on Tuesday.
Talking to the media at the Gujarat Press Club, she said six sisters are with Parvez and this is proof the PTI leader is at right.
She added: "No one came out to prevent Parvez's arrest. Just one of my sisters and I came out. The moment was unforgettable. We have never approached Chaudhry Shujaat to secure the release of Parvez. We prayed the Almighty may protect Parvez. "
She rued the talks about locking and breaking into the Zahoor Palace.
She questioned the age of the person claiming to have been in politics since 2004.
She stressed: "The sons of Shujaat describe the commemoration of Zahoor Elahi's anniversary as repugnant.
"Those using Zahoor Elahi's name for the election campaign have no idea how to get to his grave.
"None other than Parvez Elahi is following in the footsteps of Zahoor Elahi ."
She added: "Zahoor Elahi's daughters will fight the oppression at all levels, no one can shatter us"
"People associated with the Zahoor Elahi family are being barred from meeting us."
She felt strong concerns for the persons being arrested, saying: "Whoever visits us for the election campaign has been called to the police station. Everyone knows what is happening in Gujarat and why.
"Parvez Elahi is not even being given the electoral symbol of choice. However, people will elect Parvez whatever the symbol he gets. Parvez Elahi will make a comeback and resume his projects.
She said: "Talks to Shujaat Hussain have been restrained since the start of the election campaign.
"Shujaat Hussain had made it clear that no family member would be in the run from the constituency Parvez would contest the election. We know Shujaat is helpless."
She foresaw tense family ties, saying: "The family decided not to conduct any election campaign from the Palace.
"Parvez Elahi told Shujaat Hussain in writing that he would abide by the decision. Without any reason, the Zahoor Elahi Palace was raided to arrest my son."
