Another senior government official trying to broker peace in Kurram District was the target of a gun attack on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Upper Kurram Assistant Commissioner Abdul Manan was heading to Boshra village to persuade the warring sides to cease fire when his convoy was ambushed on the way.

He was seriously injured in the gun attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital on a cot.

In earlier January, Kurram District Deputy Commissioner Javed Allah Mehsud was also ambushed by gunmen in the Baggan area when unknown assailants opened fire on government vehicles convoy. The deputy commissioner sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to the Lower Ali Zai hospital and later was shifted to Peshawar via helicopter for further treatment.

Four people shot dead in Swabi

Four people including a passerby woman died in two different incidents of firing in Swabi.

According to report, in first incident of firing a man and his son were killed in Kalalar area in which a passerby woman also received bullets and died on the spot.

On receiving information Rescue 1122 medical teams reached the crime scene and shifted the bodies of the deceased to Bacha Khan Hospial. A slain was identified as Annayatur Rehman.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man named Asghar Omer was died on the spot in firing of unknown suspects in Punjpir village of Swabi.
