Govt hikes oil prices after raising LPG rates; Petrol price up by Re1 per litre, HSD by Rs7

The federal government has announced an increase in the price of petroleum products for the next fortnight.

According to a press release issued by the Finance Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has reviewed and adjusted consumer prices for petroleum products in view of recent fluctuations in the international oil market.

The price of petrol surged by Re1 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel went up by Rs7 per litre.

Earlier in the day Ogra hiked the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Rs3.68 per kilogram effective from February 1.

According to a notification, the new LPG price has been fixed at Rs 253.97 per kg. After the increase, the new price of 11.8 kg LPG cylinder will be Rs 2,997.
