HEC chairman highlights importance of faculty development in Pakistan’s educational growth

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed has emphasized the pivotal role of education in shaping Pakistan’s future on the global stage.
He was addressing at the concluding ceremony of the National Outreach Programme, held in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, which took place at Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), Lahore.
He stressed the importance of equal opportunities for young faculty members to elevate the country’s higher education standards.
He commended NAHE's ongoing faculty training initiatives, underscoring their long-term impact on academic excellence.
Furthermore, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed applauded Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE, for her unwavering commitment to improving education in Pakistan.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal extended his gratitude to HEC chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Director General HEC Ghulam Nabi, and Dr Farzana Nazir for their presence and support.
He emphasized that the Faculty Development Training Program has been transformative for the faculty of FJMU, significantly enhancing their professional expertise, leadership skills, and knowledge base.
The VC also congratulated the faculty members responsible for organizing the successful training program.
He specifically acknowledged Prof. Ayesha Malik, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Dr. Taskeen Zahra, and Dr. Saira Munawar for their exceptional leadership and dedication in bringing the initiative to fruition.
