Heartbroken at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal ministers’ continuous criticism of the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) poor performance, Bureau Chairman Malik Zubair Amjad Tiwana has written a letter, seeking premature retirement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Quoting its sources, the channel reported that Tiwana was of the view that the moral of the FBR staff was down due to this criticism.

Not only the prime minister and ministers were dissatisfied with the bureau’s performance, but also some political parties, sources added.

It is worth-mentioning here that soon after taking office, PM Shehbaz Sharif had said he would restructure the FBR and monitor its performance and even chaired several meetings in this connection.
