Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Jam Abdul Karim, nominated in the Nazim Jokhio murder case, arrived in Karachi through Emirates airline flight EK604, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Provincial Minister Imtiaz Sheikh and PPP leaders including Sohail Sial and Shabir Bijarani received Jam Abdul Karim at Karachi Airport.

The PPP parliamentarian will cast his vote in the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the prime minister.

Jam Abdul Karim, upon his arrival at Karachi airport, was taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials who handed him over to Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur. The police then took the parliamentarian with them under tight security.

In a related development, Jam Abdul Karim moved Sindh High Court for extension in his protective bail.

A day earlier, Nazim Jokhio’s widow had released a video statement pardoning all those involved in the murder of her husband.

SHC grants bail to PPP MNA Jam Abdul Kareem Jokhio

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday granted bail to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Jam Abdul Kareem Jokhio, who was nominated in the murder case of Nazim Jokhio, until April 11 in lieu of surety bond of Rs0.1 million.

Meanwhile, Nazim Jokhio murder case took a dramatic turn when the Sindh home secretary wrote a letter to the inspector general of police to change the investigation officer.

Sources privy to the development reveal that the letter was written by the home secretary on the suggestion of the Sindh prosecutor general.

“The current investigation officer is incompetent, and he has abused his powers. He appeared before the administrative judge of an anti-terrorism court (ATC) without the prosecutor general which caused embarrassment to the Sindh government,” the letter reads.

The letter was written allegedly at the behest of the influential people.
