12 killed in stampede during Zakat distribution in Karachi

Twelve people including nine women and three children were killed in a stampede during the distribution of Zakat funds in Karachi on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the incident occurred at the Site Noras Chorangi when an international company ASCO was distributing Zakat funds among the deserves.
During the stampede, two women and a child fell into the drain and died.
As per the report, many people have also become unconscious due to the stampede.
The dead bodies of two women have been shifted to Civil Hospital and the other dead bodies of six women and three children were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Karachi Site Area police chief SP Site Mughiz Hashmi said the Rashan distributors have not informed the authorities about the Ration or Zakat distribution in the dyeing factory. 
He confirmed that they have arrested seven people including a factory manager for not informing the Deputy Commissioner's Office and the police in advance about their activity. The factory has also been sealed.
About the reason for the stampede, he also said that no evidence of gas leakage or cylinder explosion was found at the spot but a pipeline was affected in the stampede.
The area police chief also said the incident is being investigated and the dead bodies have been shifted to the hospital.

The Kemari Dupty Commissioner told the media that the factory owner is abroad to offer Umrah. He said ration is distributed at the factory every year but this time a stampede occurred due to less space for the ration collectors.
He said the water pipeline burst after the stampede and deaths are due to suffocation.

The people who were killed in the stampede are identified as Waseem s/o Asif, 11y, Saad s/o Umarzada, 7y, Umme Hani d/o Arshad, 8y, Khursheeda w/o Zafar, 45y, Abida w/o Rashid, 45y, Sonia w/o Saeed 45y, Saeeda Zadi w/o Umar 40y, Naseema w/o Shahid 45y, Mafia d/o Rehmat Ullah 30y, and Wahida w/o Fazal Jan 40y.

While Yasmina w/o Jori 40y, Malaika d/o Shahid 20y, Mohdil w/o Saeed Zada 35y, Zahida w/o Rafique 40y and Nazirah w/o Sudheer 45y received injuries during the stampede.
