Punish of Love Marriage in RYK: Jirga gives decision groom's sister to marry bride's father

To settle the score against the love marriage, a local Jirga (tribal council) in the Chak Jafarabad area of Rahim Yar Khan (RYK) gave a verdict that the sister of the groom will tie the knot with the father of the bride.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the heirs of the groom alleged that the Jirga had also given a threat of killing newly married love-birds if their decision were rejected.
As per the channel report, the married couple appealed that their lives were in danger and therefore be given protection.
The local police said that the couple had made a court marriage in Karachi eight months ago and a case will be registered if such kind of illegal Jirga is proven.
