According to the announcement issued by the Secretary High Court Bar, the Lahore High Court Bar will go on a complete strike on December 5 and will not appear in the courts.
Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan, the senior-most judge of the Lahore High Court, on last Friday, sentenced Rana Asif to three months in prison for contempt of court.
The lawyers filed an appeal against this sentence, on which the Lahore High Court Registrar's Office objected that the sentenced lawyer has not surrendered.
Later, a two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi of the LHC heard the appeal and upheld the objection and declared it inadmissible.
Reacting over it, the Punjab Bar Council called for a complete strike in the courts across the province on Monday, December 5.
