PM praises Parvez Elahi’s strategy for Senate elections in Punjab

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday telephoned Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and thanked him for electing all the Senate candidates in Punjab without contest and unopposed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Imran Khan also enquired about the health of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

The prime minister also discussed the vote of confidence with the PML-Q leader, who vowed “I am with you as an ally and will remain so.”

Earlier, the government’s nominee for Senate chairmanship Sadiq Sanjrani also called PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi in which he sought his support for the upcoming Senate chairmanship vote. 

Separately, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said, “I am very thankful that Prime Minister Imran Khan with mutual collaboration nominated a Balochistan representative and our party nominee Sadiq Sanjrani for Chairman Senate slot..”

It may be mentioned here that the National Assembly session has been summoned for Saturday when Prime Minister Imran Khan will seek a vote of confidence from the parliament.

Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain shared the news on Twitter and said that the session will commence at 12:15pm on Saturday.

"Sadiq Sanjrani will be the PTI-backed candidate for the post of the Senate chairman," he added.
