Social Media Case: Court sends Orya Maqbool Jan to jail on 14 days judicial remand

Judicial Magistrate Lahore Imran Abid has denied the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) request to grant a remand of columnist Orya Maqbool Jan on Wednesday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the FIA presented Orya Maqbool Jan in court in connection with a social media case and requested an additional eight-day remand.

However, the court ruled that remand cannot be granted based on assumptions and ordered the accused to be sent to jail for fourteen days.

Advocate Azhar Siddique appeared on behalf of Orya Maqbool Jan in the court.
