Coalition govt to endorse cabinet decision from NA against SC verdict

The meeting of the coalition parties of the government Wednesday decided to endorse the federal cabinet's rejection of the Supreme Court's verdict in the Punjab poll case from the National Assembly.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the coalition parties have taken this decision in the joint meeting presided by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The sources said the meeting of the coalition parties of the government will continue on the second day tomorrow.
A proposal of tabling a resolution in the assembly against the SC verdict was also put in the meeting and the PM has shown hope that it will be passed tomorrow.
The sources said the meeting will continue reviewing the constitutional and legal aspects of the SC verdict and a future strategy will be finalized tomorrow (Thursday).
All legal and constitutional options will be kept open by the government and coalition parties, the sources said adding that a joint declaration will also be issued at the end of the meeting.
The meeting also considered the option of filing a reference on judicial misconduct against three judges including the Chief Justice, sources said.
