IHC orders removal of Babar Awan’s name from ECL

The Islamabad High Court has ordered removal of Dr Babar Awan Advocate’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Justice Summan Rifat Imtiaz heard the application of Babar Awan on Friday.

On behalf of Babar Awan, Vakil Ali Azad appeared before the court.

The court disposed of the petition after ordering removal of the name of Babar Awan from the ECL.

IHC judge expresses displeasure

IHC’s Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq expressed displeasure after journalist Sami Ibrahim’s name was not taken off from the ECP despite court’s order.

The judge summoned a report from the interior secretary within an hour asking why Sami Ibrahim’s name was not removed from the ECL.

The judge said he will order secretary’s address if he does give a satisfactory answer.
