Punjab Chief Minister Mohs Naqvi inaugurated the Thana Sadar Bairuni Police Station in Rawalpindi on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


He said that all the police stations in Rawalpindi have been upgraded and 737 police stations across Punjab are being renovated.


He praised the IG Punjab and his team for reducing the crime rate by 40% in the province and said that the process of recruiting 11,000 police personnel has started. He also said that the issue of converting police stations to solar energy is being handled by the Energy Secretary.


The Chief Minister also announced that the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi will be completely new and will be inaugurated by January 31. He said that the upgradation of hospitals in Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi is the priority of his government. He also said that the Mayo Hospital is about to be upgraded and inaugurated soon.


He further said that the work on the ring road project is going on day and night and will be completed soon. He said that the work on Dadocha Dam is also in progress and will benefit the people of Rawalpindi. He also said that the funds have been released to fix the malfunctions of the metro track and that the work on Katcheri Chowk underpass will start soon.


He admitted that there is still room for improvement in the police system and said that there is no problem of FIR registration in police stations, but he cannot claim that crimes have been completely eradicated. He also said that he is not issue of any funding for patrolling by the police.
